Associated Luxury International Hotels has rolled out a plethora of incentives for booking their properties across the United States. Rather than outline all the assets of each property, here’s a fast rundown of some of the options. The Biltmore in Coral Gables, FL just completed a $35 million restoration. Harvey’s Lake Tahoe (NV) is renovating all 519 guest rooms in the resort’s Lake Tower, slated for completion in June. Last year the resort upgraded the tower’s balcony suites. The extensive renovations continue this year with the debut of Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen Lake Tahoe, as well as a new casino bar and lounge experience. Located adjacent to Harveys main casino floor, the restaurant is similar to others in the chain; ie, design and menu elements will be pulled directly from Ramsey’s long-running FOX reality show. Expect many of Chef Ramsay’s signature dishes like the pan seared scallops, lobster risotto, beef Wellington, crispy skin salmon, and sticky toffee pudding
The Dirty Rabbit Group is at it again. The creators of The Dirty Rabbit, Vandalo Wynwood, and The Dirty Burgers, is opening their fourth venture, Back Door Monkey, by February in Miami’s Wynwood area. Chef Nicola Caicedo has created an Asian menu. Elements such as a war tank used as a DJ booth enhances décor inspired by WWII 1940s era.
Mainsail Lodging & Development is opening Mainsail Corporate Housing, the company’s first brand entry into the corporate housing industry. Initially serving the Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina markets, the expansion follows Mainsail’s January 1 acquisition of Commonwealth Corporate Suites, which has offered premium furnished apartments throughout Virginia since 2004.
The former Harborside Event Center is Fort Myers, FL is getting a new look to go with its new name, The Caloosa Sound Convention Center & Amphitheater, and will be adjacent to the new Luminary Hotel, a 243-room property slated to open in August. The renovated Caloosa Sound Convention Center will have 40,000 sf of function space, including a riverfront terrace. New to the center is a ground floor space reconfigured to add more boardrooms. Administrative offices have been added on the second floor An additional 8,000 sf of adaptable indoor and outdoor function space will be available at the Luminary Hotel according to Tampa-based Mainsail Lodging & Development. The 12-story Luminary Hotel & Co. will be the area’s first hotel in the Autograph Collection® of Marriott International. Luminary Hotel & Co. will be home to the signature Silver King Ocean Brasserie, Beacon Social Drinkery rooftop lounge, Ella Mae’s Diner with a separate street level entrance, a coffee roastery located in the lobby, The Workshop culinary theater, an indoor and outdoor fitness facility, retail space and a spacious pool area on the fourth floor overlooking the Caloosahatchee river.
Mazatlan, Mexico is booming with new development, from a 32.5-acre park called Parque Central that will contain new attractions, and new hotels. The two attractions set to open in the Spring of 2021 are Acuario del Mar de Cortes (Sea of Cortes Aquarium) and Museo Mazatlan (Mazatlan Museum), The aquarium will have a central courtyard with waterfalls, a 660,000-gallon oceanic tank with a tunnel and shark feeding area, and nearly 40,000 sf of exhibition areas. The museum will honor the area’s history and local traditions. It will have a restaurant, IMAX theater, and classrooms. According to Mark Chesnut, writer for GoGo Vacations, the museum’s 110,233-sf dome shape is inspired by the visuals of an oyster cradling a pearl (which makes sense, since Mazatlan is nicknamed the “pearl of the Pacific”). Also coming in 2020 are about 2,200 new hotel rooms. Additionally, existing hotels, such as the Palms Resort of Mazatlan, are renovating and expanding their properties. The Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan is undergoing a $26.5 million renovation that includes guestrooms, the lobby, restaurants, a new beachfront infinity pool, a new pool bar and a beach terrace.

The Opal Collection has new offerings at two of its Sarasota, FL properties. Lido Beach Resort opens the Drift Kitchen & Bar in February. It will have 180-degree views from its Gulf front. The Resort at Longboat Key Club, considered an active/wellness retreat, has added a sports club that includes 45 holes of PGA-approved championship golf courses, 20 Har-Tru tennis courts making up the award-winning Tennis Gardens and the largest deep- water resort marina on Florida’s west coast.
