Crew Café in Canada offers dedicated co-working space for rent

Whether you reside in the United States or anywhere else in the world where there are newspapers, magazines, radio, television and access to social media, you are likely aware of the turmoil that has beset America since the 2016 presidential election. As an active participant in the hospitality, entertainment, meetings and events, and yes, even in the world of journalism, the discussions have been pervasive as to the ramifications on travel, meetings, and tourism.
I know how recent upsets affect me personally. I find myself more assertively political, whereas before I sat back on the sidelines and strove to be merely objective as I covered events. As an entertainer, I am concerned events will be smaller, less frequent, or hosted last minute while planners survey how visas will be honored or rejected for international attendees or whether the unstable nature of business will create havoc on budgets and extraneous expenditures. I live in the Orlando area, so tourism and conferences are huge to the area’s bottom line. I’m near the bottom of that trickledown effect, but nonetheless, personally impacted.
I want to know about you. Are you impacted? How? How do you see our future industries evolving to cope with current and future directives? Please do let me know. I will use your name only if you give permission.
Meanwhile, here are the latest happenings and promotions of possible interest.

The $4.6 million renovation of 6,500 sf of meeting and event space in the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center in Atlanta, GA has finished. General Manager Joe Uhl says the new design embodies the Renaissance brand’s goal to incorporate indigenous elements of Atlanta into the setting. For example, large murals celebrate a “Georgia on my Mind” theme and cozy nooks outside of the Grand Ballroom capture the images of Atlanta’s history as the jewel of the South. Striking a “Business Unusual” pose, whimsical items have been added to renovated spaces that deviate from a traditional corporate environment. The 14,000 sf Garden Court features large community tables with power connections to stimulate imaginative conversations and breakouts. Smaller meeting spaces use artwork to honor the hip urban vibe of Atlanta. The 65,000 sf of event space is spread across 32 event rooms. The property directly connects to the Cobb Galleria Centre, which has another 320,000 sf of space. The 4-Diamond hotel has a 14-story atrium, multiple restaurants, fitness center, onsite Spa Waverly, and both indoor and outdoor pools.

    Interesting.
“I find myself more assertively political”
Same here. There isn’t that much talk about politics in Canada, where I live, and frankly, it’s something I can’t comprehend after the last election. I, for one, am still shocked by it every day.
“Are you impacted? How? How do you see our future industries evolving to cope with current and future directives? ”
I’m an expat of the US living in Canada. I make my money in US dollars and convert that money to Canadian dollars to live on. I also spend a lot of money in Euros. Therefore, the US president and the party in power has a direct influence over my economic situation. When the dollar is strong, it’s very good for me. It’s basically like getting a raise. Well, right after the election, the dollar soared. It had actually been on its way up for a long time, but when Trump was elected, it skyrocketed. Unfortunately, after the initial spike, it’s been sliding back down. It’s now below what it was at 2 years ago, which is not so good. While we’re at it, when Obama was first elected, the dollar was super weak, weaker than it even is now. The American dollar was actually worth a couple of cents less than the Canadian dollar at one point. That’s not the way it had ever been in the past. Historically, one Canadian dollar has usually been worth about 70-80 US cents. I’m worried that the longer Trump is in office, the weaker the dollar is going to get. That means less money for me!

Thanks for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do a little
research on this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think
I learned more clear from this post. I’m very
glad to see such great info being shared freely out there.
